Take 5ive to be streamed, live!

In News, WIN-Initiative on January 13, 2010 at 6:57 pm

Live Footage played two sets during the event.

Hard to believe it’s already time for our next Take 5ive event, but the date is indeed upon us. January 14th is the next installment of WIN’s conversational lecture party (taped by filmmaker Ashley Hillis), and this one will be streamed!

Beginning at 6:15, you can head over to the WIN site as well as www.ustream.tv/channel/take-5ive
to see the event in its entirety.

Hans Neleman played emcee for the evening.

Last time, guest speakers included Miguel Goodbar from Adorama, Dripbook’s Alex Wright, Le Book’s Sylvia Glockengiesser and Ryan Rish, recent WIN Talent Delphine Diallo and Gemma Fleming and other leaders from varying industries. It was a night full of drinks, good conversation, Hans’ special split pea soup and music from Live Footage. We’re lucky to have the band making a repeat appearance, so we’re excited about that as well! Be sure to tune in at 6:15 to see them in action.

Our next round of speakers include Karen D’Silva, Chris Stain, Jey Van-Sharp, Morgan Lang, Brett Beyer, Sarah Small, Brian Boyajian and Fernando Perdomo. They’ll be partying, mingling and talking shop. You don’t wanna miss it, so tune in to the live stream!

Le Book Names WINk Mag One of the Year’s Best Covers!

In News, Talent Corner, WINk on December 18, 2009 at 12:22 pm

Sitting in my inbox yesterday was a newsletter from Le Book that names WINk magazine as having one of the best covers of 2009! Our first ever award/recognition. And from Le Book! We here at WINk are beyond thrilled that Le Book would put us in a category alongside such amazing titles as Wonderland, Tokion, Zoo and Vice. The noted cover is from our first issue—which featured work by Chilean photogs Luis Ladron de Guevara and Javiera Eyzaguirre, among others—and was designed by and features the attention-grabbing work of Nicholas Ong. Many thanks to everyone who made the first issue possible. We’re gearing up to release the third issue in January 2010, titled Provocative, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for that.
